The Love Guru is a 2008 Mike Myers comedy film, due for release on June 20, 2008. Filming took place in Toronto Ontario, Canada.

Pitka (Mike Myers) is an American raised by gurus who returns to Canada in order to break into the self-help business. His first challenge: To settle the romantic troubles and subsequent professional skid of star Toronto Maple Leafs hockey player Darren Roanoke (Romany Malco) whose wife Prudence (Meagan Good) left him for rival skater Jacques Grande (Justin Timberlake). Filming for one of the hockey games took place at the Detroit Red Wing vs. Toronto Maple Leaf Exhibition game during intermission.

Pitka (Mike Myers) is an American who was left at the gates of an ashram in India as a child and raised by gurus. He moves back to the U.S. to seek fame and fortune in the world of self-help and spirituality. His unorthodox methods are put to the test when he must settle a rift between Toronto Maple Leafs star hockey player Darren Roanoke (Romany Malco) and his estranged wife.

After the split, Roanoke’s wife starts dating L.A. Kings star Jacques Grande (Justin Timberlake) out of revenge, sending her husband into a major professional skid – to the horror of the teams’ owner Jane Bullard (Jessica Alba) and Coach Cherkov (Verne Troyer). Pitka must return the couple to marital nirvana and get Roanoke back on his game so the team can break the 40-year-old “Bullard Curse” and win the Stanley Cup.

Shine a Light 2008 documentary film Wallpapers

Shine a Light is an upcoming 2008 documentary film directed by Martin Scorsese that spans the career of rock and roll band The Rolling Stones.

The film also includes footage from the recently concluded A Bigger Bang Tour of 2006. The film takes its title from the song of the same name, featured on The Stones’ 1972 album Exile on Main St.

Scorsese filmed the Rolling Stones for two nights at New York City’s Beacon Theater on October 29 and November 1, 2006. Footage from the shows will be intercut with backstage footage, historical clips and contemporary interviews with the band. The shows were noted for their star-studded crowds, including former President Bill Clinton. The newly released trailer for the film also shows Jack White, Christina Aguilera, and Buddy Guy onstage, performing with the band.

The film was initially scheduled for release on September 21, 2007, but Paramount Classics postponed its release until April 2008. The world premiere will be at the Berlin International Film Festival 2008. A soundtrack album of the film will be released in March 2008 from UMG.

Leatherheads is a romantic comedy set in the world of 1920s professional football starring George Clooney, John Krasinski, and Renée Zellweger. The film will be released on April 4, 2008. It is rated PG-13 for brief strong language by the MPAA.

Leatherheads began filming on February 12, 2007. Filming locations mainly included locations in and around upstate South Carolina and western North Carolina. Filming wrapped in mid-May 2007. After initially being set for release in December 2007, the studio moved the release date to April 4, 2008. The main part was filmed at Ware Shoals High School.

IIn 1925, Dodge Connolly is a charming, brash football hero who is determined to guide his team from bar brawls to packed stadiums. But after the players lose their sponsor and the entire league faces certain collapse, Dodge convinces a college football star to join his ragtag ranks. The captain hopes his latest move will help the struggling sport finally capture the country’s attention. Welcome to the team Carter Rutherford, America’s favorite son.

A golden-boy war hero who single-handedly forced multiple German soldiers to surrender in WWI, Carter has dashing good looks and unparalleled speed on the field. Kung Fu Panda 2008 Film Wallpapers

Kung Fu Panda is an animated film about a panda who learns martial arts and then uses this new ability to fight his enemies. Kung Fu Panda is being directed by John Stevenson and Mark Osborne and produced by Melissa Cobb.

The idea for the film was conceived by Michael Lachance, a DreamWorks Animation executive. The film is due for release on June 6, 2008. It will be distributed by Paramount Pictures.

The film stars the voices of, among others, Jack Black, Jackie Chan, Dustin Hoffman, Angelina Jolie and Lucy Liu.

Plot: Po (Jack Black) is a panda who is a kung fu fanatic, but whose defining characteristic appears to be that he is the laziest animal in ancient China. Evil warrior Tai Lung has escaped from prison, and all hopes have been pinned on a prophecy naming Po as the “Chosen One” to save the day. He has a group of martial arts masters to help him.

Notably, a number of the martial arts masters are animals who feature in the Chinese Zodiac – Tigress, Monkey and Snake. Others are stances commonly used in the art of kung fu – the Crane and the Mantis.

Iron Man 2008 Film Wallpapers

Iron Man is an upcoming 2008 superhero film based on the fictional Marvel Comics character Iron Man. The film is directed by Jon Favreau and stars Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark, a billionaire industrialist who is captured by terrorists in Afghanistan. Ordered to build a missile, Stark uses his resources instead to build a suit of power armor and make his escape. Returning to America, Stark improves his armor and becomes the technologically advanced superhero Iron Man. Gwyneth Paltrow plays his secretary and love interest Virginia Potts, Terrence Howard plays jet pilot James Rhodes, and Jeff Bridges plays the villainous Obadiah Stane / Iron Monger.

The film began development at Universal Studios in 1990. 20th Century Fox earned the rights in 1996, before handing them over to New Line Cinema four years later. Marvel Studios reacquired the rights in 2006, and put it in production as their first self-financed film. Favreau signed on as director, aiming for a realistic feel, and chose to shoot the film primarily in California, rejecting the East Coast setting of the comics so as to differentiate the film from numerous superhero movies set in New York City-esque environments. Stan Winston Studios built the armor seen in the film, which is modeled after Adi Granov’s comic book art of the character; Granov himself started working on the film after recognizing his work on the director’s MySpace page.

Marvel and Paramount Pictures, the distributor, have planned a $50 million marketing campaign for the film, which is modeled on Paramount’s successful promotion of Transformers (2007); Hasbro and Sega will sell merchandise, and product placement deals were made with Audi and Burger King. Iron Man will be released on May 2, 2008, and the film’s stars have signed on for a sequel. Favreau had planned out a trilogy, depicting Stark’s alcoholism, Rhodes becoming War Machine, and the introduction of the Mandarin, whose presence is foreshadowed in this film. Downey is also reprising his role in The Incredible Hulk, as Marvel has plans for a film adaptation of The Avengers.

Premise: Weapons designer Tony Stark is in Afghanistan to introduce his new missile design to the Air Force until the unit he is traveling with is attacked and Stark is taken hostage. Injured by shrapnel embedded near his heart, he is ordered by his captors to assemble a missile for them, and they give him access to a workshop. He puts his creativity to use by assembling a bulletproof suit of power armor, complete with pacemaker and flamethrowers, and uses it to free himself. Back at home, he becomes Iron Man, developing a flying suit with the red and gold scheme and advanced weapon capabilities. Stark faces the Iron Monger.

Special effects: The Iron Man suit showcased in the film was inspired by Adi Granov’s artFavreau stated he wanted the film to feel believable, and key to this was seeing the full construction of the suit in its three stages. Iron Man comic book artist Adi Granov created the suit design with Phil Saunders, which was built by Stan Winston Studios. Granov’s designs were the primary inspiration for the film’s design, and he came on board the film after he recognized his work on Jon Favreau’s MySpace page. Armor designs by graphic artist Brandon Perlow were considered by Iron Man’s visual effects supervisor John Nelson but were later rejected.

Robert Downey Jr. will be involved with motion capture work eight months after the completion of filming in order to realistically portray the suited Iron Man’s movements. On May 14, 2007, Industrial Light & Magic was hired to create the bulk of the visual effects with additional work being completed by The Orphanage and The Embassy. Skywalker Sound will manage the audio production, while EFilm will do color timing and mastering.

Sequel: Director Jon Favreau said that the first film’s plot would not deal with Tony Stark’s personal problems, such as alcoholism. Favreau noted that if there were sequels, Tony Stark’s personal problems would be explored. Favreau plans Iron Man to be the first in a trilogy, with all the actors signed on. Favreau has also stated he would like to develop the Mandarin into a physical threat, or use Fin Fang Foom if he could fit the tone of the films.

In addition, Downey is reprising his role for a cameo appearance in The Incredible Hulk (2008). Favreau has also expressed interest in directing Downey as the character in an Avengers movie.
